Jennifer Luna    Textiles, Printmaking

As a young girl, I would go to the fabric store with my mother and become mesmerized by all the different prints and patterns covering all the different textiles. I wanted to take all of them home and create new pillows, drapes, clothes and anything I could imagine. It seemed inevitable that textile design would become my passion. I am attracted to pattern of any kind, and nature is the best example of naturally occurring pattern. It serves as the base of inspiration for most of my designs. I feel nature is something in which everyone can make a connection. My design process is created through sketches, paintings, and linoleum block prints. The art of carving the linoleum blocks is as enjoyable to me as printing with it. I am driven to design functional work and enjoy making things that people can use in everyday life.
