This body of work is a return and departure at the same time. On the one hand, I’m returning to the abstraction phase that I visited several years ago. But the difference with this series of abstract works is that pattern, materials and size drive each painting. Instead of creating large abstract works, I was interested in creating small abstract paintings that highlight sophisticated bits of patterned paper.
