Artist & business participants sought for ART Prowl 2008 COOKEVILLE, Tenn.

Cookeville's ART Prowl, an annual open studio art tour, gives area residents the chance to visit artists and their studios, see demonstrations of a wide variety of art forms and media, and purchase art directly from the artist. Last year, more than 20 professional artists, studios and galleries welcomed visitors during the tour. Now in its eighth year, ART Prowl is open to all professional artists in the greater Cookeville area.

Cost to participate in this year's Art Prowl is $125 dollars. This fee include an annual membership fee of $25 for the Art Round Tennessee Organization. You will also be asked to solicit a sponsor at or above the $50 dollar level. This entitles you to show your work alone in your studio, or in a group setting with several other artists.

Another option is to show a few pieces of your work in one of the participating galleries in the downtown Cookeville area. The fee for this option is $50, which includes the $25 annual membership in Art Round Tennessee. This entitles you to show approximately three pieces. You will pay a small commission on sales, and will be asked to help man the gallery during the Prowl.

Past participating artists are invited to show again this year, plus we are welcoming at least four new artists. We have a high level of participation this year, and again plan to focus the ART Prowl in and around downtown Cookeville. If you want to be a part of ART Prowl, you can send your check to Arlene Dubo, 123 West Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501. Make checks payable to Art Round Tennessee. Please pay your fees by May 22nd. We absolutely need to know by then if you will be participating, even if you have to make financial arrangements.

The organization is also seeking business sponsorships and locations in the WestSide and Courthouse Square areas interested in serving as host galleries during ART Prowl 2008, which is set for Friday-Saturday, Nov. 7-8.
